My paintings are glimpses into my perception of life along the coast of Maine and the high desert of Taos, N.M. Using rich color and employing the dramatic light of the coast and in Taos, I work to capture the extraordinary way the light changes moment to moment which affects my response to the colors that are often too subtle for the casual observer.

Having spent most of my life painting and living along the coast of Maine and the high desert of New Mexico, I am continually inspired by the challenges the local environment presents.

Being traditionally trained as a painter, I have spent a lifetime observing and taking in the nuances of color, shapes, textures, and light which all inspire my work. t
